response time (SLA)

Devices fail, new offices need setup, rollouts take time

Without a structured lifecycle, gaps appear where you least expect them – a missing MDM profile, an unpatched device, a forgotten licence, a data leak on a former employee's laptop.

Devices fail without warning

A failing laptop or a dead server disrupts work. Without a clear escalation path and a spare-parts strategy, downtime cascades into lost productivity.

Office moves and rollouts drain resources

New offices, new hires, hardware rollouts – without a structured process, every move becomes a project. Cables, Wi-Fi, devices, accounts: each on its own timeline.

Procurement is uncoordinated across teams

Different departments buy devices independently. Models diverge, warranties expire silently, MDM enrolment is skipped. The fleet becomes unmanageable.

Offboarding leaves data and licences behind

When an employee leaves, accounts often stay active, devices keep company data and licences stay assigned. That is a security and compliance risk.

The lifecycle approach: from procurement to disposal

KPX covers every stage of your device lifecycle under a single contract – so you always know who is responsible, when devices are replaced and how data is protected.

Procurement

We source laptops, desktops, servers and peripherals from established vendors (Lenovo, HP, Dell, Apple). Devices arrive pre-configured and ready to use.

Onboarding

New employees receive a fully configured device on day one. User accounts, email, VPN, applications and security policies are set up in advance.

Management

Devices are enrolled in Microsoft Intune or a compatible MDM. Patches, policies, software deployment and compliance monitoring run centrally.

Refresh & disposal

We track the age of every device, plan replacements, migrate data and dispose of old hardware securely – with a documented certificate of destruction.

General information on IT lifecycle and field service for Swiss SMEs

What IT lifecycle management covers, why field service matters for SMEs, and how secure disposal protects your business – in brief.

What is IT lifecycle management?

IT lifecycle management covers every stage of a device's life inside an organisation: procurement, configuration, onboarding, ongoing maintenance, refresh and secure disposal. According to Microsoft's product lifecycle policy, hardware typically reaches end of support after five to seven years. Without a structured process, devices outlive their useful life and create security gaps.

Why does on-site field service matter?

Many IT tasks cannot be resolved remotely: hardware installation, network cabling, printer configuration, office moves. For SMEs without an internal IT team, a trusted field service partner is the difference between a quick fix and days of downtime. KPX provides qualified field service technicians for the greater Zurich area, with same- or next-day SLA response for in-scope tickets.

What does compliant disposal require?

When devices leave the fleet, data must be wiped according to a verifiable standard and the hardware must be disposed of in an environmentally responsible way. The Swiss Federal Cyber Security Office (NCSC) recommends documented wiping (DoD 5220.22-M or NIST 800-88) plus a certificate of destruction. Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), you remain responsible for personal data even after devices leave your premises.

MDM platforms we work with

  • Microsoft Intune for unified Windows, macOS, iOS and Android management
  • Pre-configuration of devices via Windows Autopilot and Apple Business Manager
  • Centralised application deployment and policy enforcement
  • Patch management and security baseline monitoring
  • Automated device wipe on loss, theft or offboarding
  • Reporting for compliance, warranty and licence audits

Field service capabilities

  • Hardware installation, swap-out and component replacement
  • Network cabling (copper and fibre) and Wi-Fi deployment
  • Printer, scanner and peripheral configuration
  • Office moves with full IT infrastructure relocation
  • New office IT build-out – rack, switches, access points, devices
  • On-site troubleshooting with documented handover
